1. Almost one third of burglaries occurred between 5pm and 8pm in the last 6 months of 2019
2. As the weather gets warmer, burglaries increasingly take place through unsecured doors or windows
3. In winter, up to 20% of burglaries occur during twilight hours when homes can look unoccupied
4. Jewellery and cash are the most common articles stolen during burglaries
5. There were over 100 cases where car keys were “fished” through the letterbox between July-December 2019

• Light up your Home, use timer switches when out
• Store Keys safely and away from Windows & letterboxes
• Record details of Valuables and don’t keep large Cash amounts at home
• Use your Alarm, even when at home
